New Term, New Start!——ENGLISH MONTHLY 英语月刊第1期

With the coming of Spring, we have a brand new term. After a meaningful winter vacation, students have improved a lot and are well-prepared for new challenges in English learning. Come and see what they have done during the past two months.

伴着明媚的阳光，踏着春的气息，我们迎来了崭新的一学期，同学们蓄势待发，准备好迎接新的挑战！让我们来看一下假期他们都做了哪些努力吧！

一、Tasks for winter vacation

寒假生活录

The teachers designed homework carefully, including homework for review and preview as well as reading and writing tasks. Our students have done it seriously.

首先，请欣赏我们的寒假生活指导。老师们精心设计了复习、预习作业，以及读书卡和练字任务，学生们完成地十分认真。

Students’ serious attitude are fully reflected through their use of blue and red pens, and their beautiful handwriting.

三色笔的使用，整齐美观的书写无不体现了他们精益求精、严肃认真的态度。

They previewed and recited the new words to prepare for the Second Handwriting Contest.
为了迎接新学期的英文书写大赛，同学们一笔一划写下每一个单词。

They read after the tape sentence by sentence, imitated the pronunciation and intonation with their earnest attitude and great patience.

他们认真跟读《阿拉丁神灯》音频，模仿语音语调，规范发音。

We presented the award certificates to students.
开学初，我们评选了“最佳学习奖”和“最佳朗读者”，祝贺以上同学！

二、Book report of Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp
读《阿拉丁神灯》，品英文之美

Students read English stories every day to appreciate the beauty of English. When finished reading each chapter, they wrote down the words, phrases and sentences they thought were good to enlarge their vocabulary.

同学们每天坚持阅读《阿拉丁神灯》，每当读完一个章节，他们便摘抄下美文美句，积累词汇和表达，不断扩充自身的词汇量，培养语感。

Let’s see the unique comprehension of some of the students after reading Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp.

让我们来看一下同学们读完后的感受吧！

Aladdin is a very funny story. Aladdin was lazy before. He got a enchanted lamp , it made him become rich and helped him in many ways. His uncle--but he was a magician in fact, wanted to use the lamp to do some bad things. Aladdin fought against him.Aladdin is a good man now and he is a hero,he is very clever and brave.

From this story,I have learned that good is rewarded and evil is punished,justice can always defeat evil. When we face the bad people,we must not give up,to be clam and brave to fight against them.

After reading the Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp, I have learned a lot. First, good and evil must have their reward at last. Abanzar is a magician and a bad man,so he got the retribution. Aladdin is a good man, so he can be a rich man. Second, justice will prevail, light can always win the darkness. So, we should be a good person.

三、The Second Handwriting Contest
第二次英文书写大赛

We held the contest in the second week.Students are writing conscientiously.

开学第二周，我们举办了第二次英文书写大赛。看！同学们多么投入！

English is not a mere subject but a language which you need to use. We try to make English full of great interests and vitality through colorful activities and creative tasks. Hope our students enjoy English!
